Chinese drama series and documentaries will be aired on Indonesia’s state-owned public television broadcaster for a period of two years. Chinese drama movies and documentaries will be dubbed in Bahasa Indonesia to promote friendlier cultural relations between the two countries. So far, it has not been indicated that the PRC has distributed entertainment-related hardware in Indonesia, but Chinese electronic products are widely known to be cheaper compared to those produced or assembled in Japan or the US. Indonesia’s is one of the biggest market of Chinese tv shows and drama, there has been several companies such as iQiYi that has partnered up with Indonesian media group MNC. Moreover, Tencent video has also joined the Indonesian market in partnership with Malaysian based streaming service iflix.

there aren’t any TV shows distributed through PRC connected entities. Netflix has some Chinese shows running, but there are just as many as the Japanese or Korean ones. TV Boxes, such as the Xiaomi Mi Box (USD$ 100), are popular among the Chinese communities and have gained popularity in the Chilean audience. Nevertheless, they will only show Chinese content if its not configurated to the local community. Users in Chile can visit the Chinese webpage of “IQiyi service” (movies / tv series) which has a version in Spanish. If a user downloads the “IQiyi App” (at least on Android) it can access content with Spanish subtitles for free (with adds).”
