The All-China Journalists Association held a online panel on cross-Straits journalism exchange with Chinese Press Institute (Taiwanese organization) to discuss the social responsibility of convergence media during the pandemic. Media from China and Taiwan took part in the discussion, including the People's Daily in China and United News in Taiwan. All-China Women Federation, All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots and Taiwan Chinese Women Federation co-hosted a tour to China in May 2019. During the national election in the following year, Ho Jianhua, the president of Taiwan Chinese Women Federation, was charged of receiving illegal contribution from China and bribery. Also, on Straits Forum, one of the most important events for the united front work to Taiwan, there are specific panels for different communities, such as women, youth and disabled forums. Most of them are held by the professional association such as All-China Women Federation and China Disabled Persons Federation.

Chinese nationals living in Chile, especially the ones who came after 2008, often have close ties with the PRC. In that sense, they sometimes represent and participate of events in Chile and China. In 2019, the Polish Media Association signed a cooperation agreement with the Polish Media Association, a small organization with ties to Warsaw Chamber of Commerce (WCC). The actions and public comments by WCC and PMA are result of earlier cooperation with their Chinese counterparts. There are other organizations in Poland that maintain relations with Chinese counterparts as Polish Writers” Union (among others with China Writers Association). However in recent years particularly in 2020 the ties have weakened. There have been also some events organized by PRC entities listed in the brief (e.g. China Writers Association), promoting Chinese literature, attended by Polish writers and translators, with no obvious political agenda.

There are people-to-people links that do not qualify, for example the All-China Women’s Federation has met with the UK’s National Alliance of Women’s Organisations which represents a number of groups. Several professional associations from the PRC have engaged over the past decades with their Austrian counterparts. It seems, however, that these relations seem to be both infrequent and rather shallow. In 2016 a delegation of Chinese journalists organized by the All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) visited Austria and Germany. In Austria following journalistic institutions were visited: Austria Presse Agentur, the community channel Okto (see notably Media Question 5), Association of Austrian Newspapers (Verband Österreichischer Zeitungen), as well as the newspaper Der Standard. Similarly, a forum discussion organized by the China Writers Association in 2019 saw the attendance of several representatives of Austrian writers association, namely the Austrian Writers’ Union (Österreichischen Schriftstellerverband) and the Austrian PEN Club.

In 2015 again, China Daily had organised a visit to Maotai town in Guizhou. I was on the trip.
